It's pretty authentic in look and feel, and fits as expected. BE WARNED - Online description claims 100% cotton construction. There was actually a size 8, which is even a bit big, but which should work well, especially when you look at an interior label that recommends buying a slightly larger size than usual due to probable shrinkage with washing. Outside of that I would still give the hat a 5, bottom bidder quality at bargain price. The issue with the size is the depth of the hat, not circumference for me. One note about maintenance: I always hang dry the hat rather than drying it, because that's just what I did in the military and it works just fine for me. I've seen many similar comments that the hat runs small, and then some pop up that it's too big. The one I was issued did not have loops, but that didn't matter to me in the slightest when I decided to make the purchase. I ordered at the same time the Tru spec military boonie in a size 7 1/2 and I like the Tru Spec much better. This Rothco hat is made in China, which I try to avoid (I prefer to buy American if I can), and is not going to win any points for style, but you can through it in your bag and not worry about damaging it. The quality isn't great, it's made in China and lastly for mine the shipping time took forever. I wore it for a week in the hot sun while on staff for a Cub Scout Day Camp. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness. The drawstring is also useful for keeping it on your head when it's windy.
